Bodas de Madeira nos Açores, disclaimer for the non-portuguese:
The 5th wedding anniversary is called the wooden anniversary (bodas de madeira). Since we didn’t get to gather in 2021, we’re doing it now
— in Inês’ home island in the Azores. But here’s the twist: Madeira also happens to be the name of Portugal’s other famous island group (and our friendly rival archipelago).
So no, we’re not heading to Madeira… we’re bringing the wood (madeira) to the Azores.
